Oregon Represent! EugeneFilmFest. Oct 21-23. Hope to see you all there!
HOSF was accepted to the International Student Film & Video Festival. Unfortunatly – I won’t be able to attend, but I will be there in spirit. Here’s to Christmas Films translating well in Mandarin!
Just got great news today – a New York City Screening! New Filmmakers has selected HOSF for the Fall Series. New Filmmakers is a great resource and I am really excited about this screening. HOSF will be screening at 7:00 on December 13th at the “Anthology Film Archives”. You can find out more about the screening here: NewFilmmakers.
It’s always nice to have someone appreciate your work and then ask you to do something else. When I set out to make HOSF I knew I wanted to stress one thing: directing kids. I wanted this film to show others that I could create believable performances from children. Because of that I was remarkably excited when Micah Cyrus and Meltem Oznalci called me last month to direct a short film they were producing that starred a small girl. They said they loved the performances I got from the kids in HOSF when they saw it and wanted me to do the same for their short.
Cut 30 days forward and I am on my way to set to direct another short. I haven’t been on set directing for some time now and am filled with that nervous/anxious feeling that I love/hate. Can’t wait!
Just got a string of emails letting me know HOSF had been accepted at the “Temecula Valley Film Festival“. Very exciting news. It seems to be a great festival and they will be announcing the schedule in a “Press Event” next week. I am looking forward to the Festival and plan on attending. It runs from Sept 14-18 and is just a couple hours outside of LA! I will keep you all posted as to when we are screening!
Once you start getting into Festival’s you notice a trend in the films you screen with. Different Festivals like different films, so the ones that like your film…probably like others in a similar vain. One that is always popping up in my line up just happens to be the Academy Award Winning God of Love. I have already screened in three festivals with it. It is an amazing film and I urge you all to watch it.
